I’ve weighed over 300 pounds. I’ve lost 65 pounds. I’ve gained 30 back. Once again, it’s been a tumultuous journey to say the least.

My journey with weight loss, beauty, and self-care has been an interesting one to say the least. My guess is that my ADHD like symptoms don’t help me at all when it comes to being consistent with things like weight loss journaling, meal planning. meal prepping, tracking my weight loss, and shoot, even just using a face mask consistently.

The struggle is ridiculous. However, despite my ups and downs, I do have one or two things to share with ya’ll that I think will help you too, on your weight loss journey (😉)

3 Hidden Reasons You’re Not Losing Weight—Even If You’re Doing Everything Right!

Has trying to lose weight got you losing your mind? Does it seem like no matter what you try, you can’t lose weight? In this post, I identify some little-discussed barriers that block you from losing weight.

I remember a few years back when I thought I was trying everything possible to lose weight.

And I come to the conclusion that it wasn’t me.

I must have some underlying condition that’s preventing me from losing weight.

Or so I thought.

So I went to a doctor with a list of symptoms to prove to her that something was wrong with me. I was convinced that I had hypothyroidism and I had all the signs to prove it.

Or so I thought.

And this was why I could not lose weight.

Or so I thought.

But that wasn’t true. That was merely the excuse I was making to avoid dealing with the real reasons why I wasn’t losing weight. Turns out I did not have hypothyroidism.

And guess what? I was actually disappointed.

Imagine being disappointed that you don’t have a serious underlying medical condition so that you can use it as an excuse for your inability to lose weight.

Crazy right?

Now it’s possible that you do you have a serious condition that makes it harder to lose weight.

But if you don’t, these three reasons that I’m going to share with you just might be the culprit.

So let’s dive in and explore these reasons.Continue reading

Best Natural Alternatives To Metformin To Reverse Prediabetes

Did you know that there are natural alternatives to Metformin & that it’s possible to reverse prediabetes?

I know I know…when I was diagnosed with prediabetes I just knew that it was inevitable that I would eventually get diabetes mellitus.

And I had heard for years from my grandmother how serious diabetes is and how you don’t want to get it and on and on.

So when a nurse practitioner at my clinic told me I was prediabetic, I was so scared. But then I got to work to see what I could do to reverse it and to get off of Metformin which they put me on.

I’m grateful to say that I no longer take Metformin and I no longer have prediabetes, praise God. So how did I do it?

28 Christian Bloggers To Follow For Brilliant Healthy Living Tips (Round Up Post)

Ummm,

Has anyone else noticed this?

It’s kinda hard to find Christian bloggers who talk about health, weight loss or living a more natural lifestyle.

I mean, yeah, you can find some but you’ll find one you like, get all excited, and then see that their last post was in 2014.

It’s like, dude, for real…what a let-down.

Of course, there are tons of blogs that talk about living a more natural lifestyle but I really wanted to find some that had more of a Christian focus.

Why?

Because I do love it when the Father gets the praise for all of the wonderful things He has given us like vegetables, fruits, nature, animals, natural medicine, etc. to keep us healthy.

It’s humbling to think about all the things He’s created, especially when I sometimes have trouble just getting my herbs to grow (and has anyone else ever killed an aloe vera plant? Oh, that was just me…ok, nevermind).

Plus it’s encouraging to read blogs written by like-minded people.

If you’re a foodie and have not been to Trader Joe’s you have been deprived, seriously but I will let you know.

What Is Trader Joe’s?

Trader Joes is a grocery store that started in Pasadena, California in 1967.

It is now owned by Aldi Nord…yes this is the same Aldi that you have to deposit a quarter in order to use a cart.

But don’t worry, you don’t have to do that with Trader Joes.

No quarters required which is so great because I’m constantly forgetting to get mine. This is just one small thing that I love about Trader Joes. There’s so many!Continue reading

What would it be like to go on a diet and actually lose weight and keep it off?

Unfortunately, many people have not experienced this because 95% of diets fail. However, you can be in that 5% of diets that don’t fail.

How, you ask?

Think about it.

What is it that tells you to get up and workout and not sit all day?

Your mind.
