I’ve been deep in debt. I’ve gotten out of debt. I’ve gotten back in (yikes). I’ve lived paycheck to paycheck, saved thousands on a tight salary, juggled side hustles, and even learned how to invest.

It’s been a whole financial rollercoaster—and if you’ve ever felt the same, you are so not alone. One thing that’s kept me grounded through it all is Jesus. Yes, even in my finances. He’s walked with me through every broke moment, every breakthrough, and every budget spreadsheet.

If you’re a woman with ADHD who needs simple, grace-filled money tips, plus tools like budget planners, journals, and templates to help you stay focused and consistent, you’re in the right place. Let’s figure it out—together.

Debt Snowball vs. Debt Avalanche: Which Method Feels Easier to Stick With?

If you’ve started looking into debt payoff methods, you’ve probably come across two names over and over again: debt snowball and debt avalanche.

Everyone seems to have strong opinions about which one is “right.” One financial expert swears by the debt snowball. Another insists the debt avalanche is the only logical choice. Friends, podcasts, YouTube videos, and social media all seem to have different opinions. And instead of feeling motivated, you’re left feeling overwhelmed.

If you’re wondering:

“Can someone just tell me which one will work for me?” You’re in the right place.

The truth is, both methods have helped thousands of people become debt-free. The question isn’t which one is universally better—it’s which one fits you.

Because at the end of the day, the best debt payoff strategy is the one you can stick with when life gets busy, unexpected expenses pop up, and motivation starts to fade.

Let’s walk through both approaches together so you can choose the one that feels right for your personality, your goals, and this season of your life.

How to Pay Off Debt on a Low Income When There’s Barely Anything Left After Bills!

If you’re paying off debt on a low income, you’ve probably heard the same advice over and over again.

“Cancel your subscriptions.”

“Stop buying coffee.”

“Just stick to a budget.”

Those tips might work for someone who has plenty of extra spending to cut, but they can feel almost insulting when you’re already doing everything you can just to keep your head above water.

Maybe your paycheck disappears the moment it hits your bank account. Rent, groceries, gas, childcare, prescriptions, utilities—by the time you’ve covered the essentials, there’s barely anything left. Then you look at your credit card balance or loan payments and wonder how you’re ever supposed to get ahead.

If that’s where you are, I want you to know something.

You’re not lazy.

You’re not irresponsible.

And you’re certainly not alone.

When your income barely covers your necessities, paying off debt feels impossible. But impossible and slow are two very different things. This article isn’t about becoming debt-free overnight.

It’s about making progress—even when money is tight. Here are proven tips that have worked for several women in similar conditions.

I couldn’t figure it out. Why was it so hard for me to create and stick to a budget? I mean besides my undiagnosed ADHD. But then as I started to analyze my paychecks, it finally dawned on me.

My income was irregular. Because I’m hourly, my income fluctuates. Sometimes I get paid for 10 days of work and some days I get paid for 7 (and those are some depressing paychecks let me tell you).

Once I uncovered the reason (or one of the reasons why) it was hard for me to budget then I was like ok, I know other people have the same issue. So what do they do?

Eventually I’ve come up with a plan that works for me and I hope that it will help spark some ideas for you too.

Messy financial situations like maxxed out credit cards, preforclosing on your house, or debt that is more than your annual salary can make us anxious as we wonder where the money to deal with these situations is likely to come from.

I know this because I’ve been at that point before, I’ve been in debt almost more than my annual salary so I know the pain that comes with it.

5-Minute Self-Care Ideas: Quick and Easy Ways to Boost Your Well-Being
