– What Is A Christian Financial Budget Worksheet Or Planner?
So what is a Christian financial budget worksheet anyway? Well, a financial budget worksheet is just a single sheet of paper that you can use to create your budget. You’ll usually find a budgeting worksheet as just one page in a budget planner.
But what makes it a Christian budget worksheet versus just a regular budget worksheet?
Well, when it’s a Christian budget worksheet and that always means that the Lord is in the center of your financial planning. You see, money is something that the Lord blesses us with. It’s just that a lot of people don’t acknowledge that.
But a Christian worksheet that you use to do your budget would acknowledge that so let’s talk about some ways in which that is the case. One thing that you want to make sure is on your Christian financial worksheet is a place for tithing or contribution.
I know that as Christians it is not required for us to tithe. However, as it says in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 God loves a cheerful giver. That means that even though we don’t have to contribute to some sort of worship place of worship, as Christians we really want to.
Why? Because we want to give to the Lord and help further His kingdom with what he’s blessed us with.
You might also find scriptures about money on the worksheet. But the biggest thing is it you will want to be prayerful about the ways in which you spend your money. So this financial sheet might have a place to write financial prayers. This is where you ask God for blessings but you also ask for guidance on how you should spend your money.
These are just a few of the things that you might find on a Christian budget worksheet.

–The Scary Reason Why You Need A Budget
The short answer: A budgeting worksheet keeps you from falling into a deep dark hole of debt and being unprepared for the financial storms and necessities of life
Longer answer: When you use a budget worksheet, planner, or journal, you are showing that you are a proper adult. When we were kids or even in college, you could blow your money on fast food and clothes and not really think about the consequences.
But once you become a woman, whether you are single or have a family, there are real-life implications to being careless with your money. Life will not be kind to you, especially when you hit retirement age if you haven’t been a good steward of your money.

–5 Scary Things That Happen When You Don’t Budget
There are some truly sad situations that happen to you when you don’t manage your money.
1) Always Stressed
When you don’t use a budget and make wise financial decisions you are always stressed and we know anxiety and stress ain’t good. Any unexpected expenses can make you freak out when you don’t have a financial cushion to fall back on. You count the days until your next paycheck.
You hope and pray that your bank account won’t overdraft and all your bills will be paid. Being financially stressed is like someone is always hounding you, demanding your money. It’s no way to live!

2) Homelessness
The elder at my church recently told us a story about a woman in my state who lived in a shack in someone’s backyard.
She didn’t have money.
There was no food or electricity. She was homeless and sadly it was because her husband died and left her with a lot of debt that she couldn’t pay back.
This is the story for many women. And trust me when I say that I’m not blaming or looking down on them. I have a heart for them truly. But perhaps using something as simple as a budgeting planner or worksheet, every month, would have helped these women (and honestly still could).
Sitting down with your spouse or by yourself and seeing exactly where your money is going and making any necessary changes can help you stave off any potential disasters.
3) Living Paycheck To Paycheck
Maybe you’re not homeless, which I’m truly grateful for, but you might be living paycheck to paycheck which is the case for 63% of Americans! What does this mean?
It means you literally have no money left over at the end of the month. It means you stretch your money as far as it can possibly go until your next pay date rolls around. You might be one month away from eviction and wondering how you will pay for groceries.
Or maybe you have to choose between groceries and your light bill. My heart breaks for any woman (or man) in this situation!
God does not want us to live that way! You can start making changes in your spending habits that will improve your financial situation.
4) Unprepared For Retirement
Perhaps you’ve noticed an increase in older people in the workforce. People who you assume were retired but work at places like Target or Mcdonald’s. Please know that I don’t think anything is wrong with that!
I know some of them just want a little extra income but are doing fine financially. But sadly, some truly need that income to survive.
They weren’t taught about saving and investing for retirement and so they never did it. In fact, 16% of Americans have nothing saved for retirement!
Now they are in their golden years and they can’t afford to just go hang with their grandkids. They have to work or their electric bill won’t get paid.
Even if their poor bodies are rattled with aches and pains, they still have to get up every morning and go to work or they won’t eat.
It’s a heartbreaking situation that many of our senior citizens find themselves in. But if you start creating a budget now, and investing your money, you can prevent this from happening to you!
5) Unsafe Living Conditions
Yes, you can be a victim of crime anywhere you live. But let’s be real here. The least safe parts of any city also tend to have the cheapest places to live. So if you can’t afford to live in the “nicer” parts of town, you are more vulnerable to being a victim of violent crimes.
It is what it is. And I don’t want that life for anyone.
So if you can start managing your money better (and earning more) then this won’t have to be your reality.

–What Can You Do To Prevent These Scary Financial Situations
What can you do to prevent any of these scary financial situations from happening to you? You probably guessed it…start a budget and stick to it. And the easiest way to do that is by using a budgeting planner.
No, a financial planner won’t keep you from being homeless but it’s a brilliant first step to taking control of your money and making wise and informed financial decisions! I created a financial budget planner that I’ll tell you about.
And I’ll be honest.
It costs money.
If you’re not in a position right now where you can afford to spend money to create a budget, please know that you don’t have to. I like using a budgeting planner because it prompts you on what you should write.
Sometimes staring at a blank piece of paper is intimidating. And if you’re a budgeting beginner then you may not know where to start. I totally get that. So that’s one of the reasons why I made this planner which you can take a look at here.
But you can use a blank sheet of paper for your budget. Or you can use Google Docs or Sheets or whatever program you know best. I just want to be here to encourage you in your journey toward financial freedom and provide tools to help that happen.
However, you get there is fine with me!
