Affirmations Of Faith
Do you feel like your identity is constantly being attacked? This world is changing quickly and not in a good way. Because of this, it can be hard to know who you are and what your worth is.
But fortunately, we serve an amazing God who knows exactly who he is. And he is kind enough to tell us who he says we are.
So today we are going to discuss some affirmations of faith in who God is and faith that we are who he says we are.
You can use these faith affirmations in your journal and read over them whenever you feel like you need mental clarity.

– What Are Affirmations Of Faith?
So what are affirmations of faith? Well, there are different ways of looking at faith affirmations in my opinion.
Of course, you could focus on affirmations of faith in yourself.
However, these are not the ones that I will be talking about today.
Those are more of a me-centered affirmation and I’m not really about that life.
Those are more of the “believe in yourself ” type affirmations. These sound good on the surface but when you dig a little deeper you find that this is a shaky foundation.
Why? Because if your worth in life is based only on how you feel then what will you do if you go through depression or have chronic anxiety?
Or if you have a bad breakup or divorce or grieve the loss of someone close to you?
In those moments, you need strength and affirmations from something outside of yourself so you can make it through the day without being in shambles.
That’s why instead, I’m going to focus on affirmations of faith that come from God.
God the Father and Jesus God the Son made many I am statements throughout the Bible.
They also spoke to their followers and told us who we are. These statements are unshakeable affirmations that no one can change or steal from us.
When you are a follower of Christ, the statements I’m going to share will apply to you (not a Christian but want to learn more? Please click here).
And you can draw courage, inspiration, and strength from them when you feel discouraged, lonely, or hurt.
– Biblical Affirmations Of Faith To Strengthen Your Relationship With Christ
These affirmations of faith are ones Jesus himself. You can have faith in what Christ says about Himself and have unwavering confidence in His love and power.
– Affirmations Of Faith From Christ
1.“I am the bread of life.” (John 6:35, 41, 48, 51) As bread sustains physical life, so Christ offers and sustains spiritual life.
2. “I am the light of the world.” (John 8:12) To a world lost in darkness, Christ offers Himself as a guide.
3. “I am the door of the sheep.” (John 10:7,9) Jesus protects His followers as shepherds protect their flocks from predators.
4. “I am the resurrection and the life.” (John 11:25) Death is not the final word for those in Christ.
5.“I am the good shepherd.” (John 10:11, 14) Jesus is committed to caring and watching over those who are His.
6. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) Jesus is the source of all truth and knowledge about God.
7. “I am the true vine.” (John 15:1, 5) By attaching ourselves to Christ, we enable His life to flow in and through us. Then we cannot help but bear fruit that will honor the Father.
– Affirmations Of Faith In God
1.“Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
2. “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)
3. God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.” (Exodus 3:14)

– Affirmations Of Faith For You
So what can we draw from the affirmations in the I am statements that we just covered? After reading them, I know I can trust God.
We’ve already talked about how crazy the world is right now. I suppose it always has been but it seems more chaotic and evil lately.
Not only that but absorbing lots of toxic ideas from social media, mainstream media and entertainment can shake the identity and self-worth of even the strongest person.
What I love about the I Am statements from Jesus is how powerful they are over all of the nonsense that the enemy tries to throw at us.
The toxic ideas and ideologies thrown at us are tools from the enemy to lead us away from our Creator.
The world may lead you to believe that you don’t have worth if you’re poor, don’t wear a certain clothing size, or believe a certain thing.
Jesus says He is the good shepherd. We should be led by Him… The one who created and loves us, not by a celebrity, politician, boss, friend, family member, pastor, or influencer.
Is this a hard truth to remember? Yes! Absolutely. Life is filled with distractions and let’s face it… we like to place our trust in what we can see.
That is part of the reason why we get so caught up in what people around us say or think.
I know I do. Be sure to read the section about how to use these affirmations because I believe it will help you when you lose focus on who matters.
In the meantime, here are some affirmations of faith that you can say when you are plagued by confusion, self-doubt, or discouragement.
Then I will share with you how to use them:
- I am being lead by Christ.
- I am His sheep.
- I am being graciously sustained ( bread of life)
- I am protected. ( this doesn’t mean that we won’t have trouble but that He will be with us when we do)
- God is always with me.
- I am loved.
- I am connected to the true vine and bear fruit.
- I am walking in light.
- I believe in the power of Christ.
- There is nothing too hard for God!
– How To Use These Faith Affirmations
Because of the constant attacks on our faith and identities, it’s not enough to just read these affirmations and roll on. We need to bathe ourselves in these truths on a regular basis.
Here are some ways you can do that:
1. Write these statements in your journal.
List these affirmations in your journal. Then underneath each affirmation explain what they mean to you and your relationship with God. Here are some free faith journal prompts to get you started!
Date each entry so you can see where your mind was at each particular moment.
(Be sure to keep reading as I will share with you how you can download a free digital and printable Bible journal! That way you can start using these affirmations right away!)
2. Bookmark these verses.
You can keep tabs on the specific verses that we covered. Or you could bookmark them in your digital Bible.
3. Bible journal these affirmations.
Yes I know I just said earlier that you could write these affirmations in your journal.
But now I’m talking about a more artistic form of journaling. What you can do is go to the verses that we talked about and then draw the affirmation in the margins of that page.
This is particularly helpful using a journaling Bible which is created for this very reason.
– Conclusion: How will you use these affirmations of faith?
