66 Delicious Items To Add To Your Trader Joe’s Shopping List (Plus Free Healthy Grocery List)
Last Updated on 10/17/2024 by Nicky
What up my fellow foodies?
I’m super excited because I’m just 4 days away for making my bi-annual pilgrimage to Trader Joe’s!
So if you’re looking for some new delish items to add to your Trader Joe’s shopping list, I gotchu.
Why do I only go 2 times (maybe 3 times) a year?
Because it’s really far. Imma need Trader Joe’s to open up a location where I live.
Trust me, ya’ll would do phenomenally here…but anywho.
Today, I’m going to share with what I plan to get at Trader Joe’s on my culinary voyage and a few things that I am doing to prepare for my trip.
I know it sounds crazy but when you only go there a few times a year, you have to make it count.
But wait a minute…did I hear someone ask what Trader Joe’s is?
If you’re a foodie and have not been to Trader Joe’s you have been deprived, seriously but I will let you know.
What Is Trader Joe’s?
Trader Joes is a grocery store that started in Pasadena, California in 1967.
It is now owned by Aldi Nord…yes this is the same Aldi that you have to deposit a quarter in order to use a cart.
But don’t worry, you don’t have to do that with Trader Joes.
No quarters required which is so great because I’m constantly forgetting to get mine. This is just one small thing that I love about Trader Joes. There’s so many!
Why People (Including Me) Love Trader Joes
So you might be thinking, okay so this is just a grocery store…what’s the big deal? I get it.
Let me school you.
1. The workers are super helpful and friendly. And I can always find one when I need it.
Plus Trader Joes pays there employees really well, which makes me happy knowing that they are taken care of.
2. They have great prices, especially on natural, healthy, and organic foods.
I check food labels pretty religiously and I don’t feel like I have to be on guard (as much) with food from Trader Joes because they do tend to have foods with better more whole ingredients.
And they have a lot of low points items that taste good if you are on the Weight Watchers plan (which I am on…kinda).
3. Rumor has it that you can taste almost anything in the store.
For instance, if you want to try a particular bag of potato chips, but you’re on the fence about it, you can get an employee to open the bag and let you taste a sample.
I have not tried this before so I don’t know if this works but I have read this. Pretty awesome if true!
4. They sell tons of unique products that you can’t find anywhere else.
5. Many of their store brand items taste amazing.
6. They sell a ton of frozen foods that could replace take out from a restaurant (and is healthier many times).
7. They have a money back guarantee on I believe most items.
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. They are a frugal foodie’s dream.

Preparing For My Trip To Trader Joe’s
Cleaning out the freezer- So in order for me to be able to go to Trader Joes and stock up on all of the fabulous frozen foods I want to get, I’m going to have to clean out my freezer.
I have some food in there that needs to be thrown away. I also have food in the freezer that needs to be eaten.
So that is imperative for me to be able to put away all of my frozen foods.
Watching videos- I’ve been watching a lot of Trader Joe’s Haul videos, especially ones that talk about Weight Watchers points. Here’s a helpful one I’ve seen:
Making My Trader Joe’s Shopping List
Okay, now it’s time for the good stuff! I used the ShoppingList app to create a list of things I want to get at Trader Joes.
It’s a really cool app where you can break your lists up into categories.
That way it makes shopping easier because you know all of the items in the frozen food section are on one part of the list, all the fruits and vegetables are on another part of the list, etc.
