This has definitely been one of the biggest challenges of my life but in some ways one of my biggest successes (but only because of Christ because on my own, there’s no telling where I’d be).

I have overcome depression. Anxiety…it still creeps up its little ugly head but I’ve got some tools now to push Anxious Ally back down when I need to (or just ignore her altogether…whatever works).

I strongly suspect I have ADHD but since I don’t have an official diagnosis, I won’t claim it. I’ll just say the symptoms are very strong with this one.

Whether I’m neurodivergent or not, this brain that I’ve been blessed (oh how I want to put blessed in quotation marks but I won’t) with, has certainly challenged me far beyond what I would have preferred.

But God has been walking with me through it all and I hope to share some tips with you that will be helpful in your own mental health journey.

40+ Bible verses for hopeless women

[Sometimes I feel like as Christians we aren’t supposed to have feelings of hopelessness or despair.

As if we are less His children if we struggle with depression or other mental illness. But God is a God of great mercy and He knows that we struggle just like anyone else.

However, we don’t stay in a pit of despair because we have a hope from God that pulls us out of that pit.

And in today’s post, written by Karen Ellis of the Warrior Women blog she is going to share some powerful bible verses with us that we can turn to in times of hopelessness.

So if you have a broken heart or feel a complete loss of hope, pull up a chair, get comfortable and let the word of God fill you with the hope that only He can provide.]

God is so good. He loves you more than you can comprehend and only wants what is best for you. But sometimes, this is hard to believe.

When we are going through what seems like one trial after another, we just barely weather one stressful storm when another one hits. It can cause us to feel helpless and hopeless.

Where do you turn for help when you are feeling helpless or hopeless? The Bible has a lot to say about this subject and even gives us several examples of people who felt hopeless, just like we do at times.

For help and hope in the moments when you feel hopeless, let these Bible verses bring you peace and comfort.Continue reading

Powerful Bible Verses For Anxiety Attacks

[I’m thrilled to share today’s post with you by Sacha Rose from Clothed With Dignity! She will be talking about her experience with anxiety and the scriptures she’s used to help her get through tough times. I will also be making a few additions to her post but I will put my comments in purple so you’ll know the difference :). Now let’s get started and see what she has to share!]

Mental health, especially having issues like anxiety attacks, is a bit of a taboo subject in modern Churches.

There aren’t a lot of pastors that openly talk about Christians who have mental health issues such as anxiety disorder or depression, and what can be done in order to help them.

Oftentimes Christians will brush it under the rug and say that you are lacking faith, or need to pray to God more.

We know that Jesus died for our sins, for the sins of the whole world, and there is nothing that is impossible with Him.

There are so many testimonies throughout time of people breaking free of their mental health issues that Jesus has healed them from.

But this isn’t going to be the case for everyone. For many, including myself, there are ongoing struggles that we have to work through.

I suffer from anxiety and have done so for a very long time. Some days are harder than others, but what truly helps me get through each day is my faith in God alone.

Should I try online therapy is the same question I asked myself over 10 years ago when I was suffering from depression and anxiety.

Not only was I depressed and anxious but I also had unrecognized ADHD. which explained why everything felt so hard, overwhelming, and exhausting—even things that were “supposed” to help me.

I knew I needed help escaping the dark prison that was my brain but the thought of talking to someone face to face was not an option for me at that time.

Yes, you should get online therapy and in today’s post, I’m going to tell you why and where you can get it.

Top 7 Calming & Stress-Relieving Hobbies To Help Combat Anxiety

Have you ever lived with something so long that you begin to think it’s normal?

Then you get a clue and you’re like wait I’m not meant to live like this!

I had that realization this week about anxiety.

Although I’ve overcome depression completely and given anxiety more than a few punches, I still am not completely free and I’m guessing you’re not either.

I guess I thought hey as long as my anxiety isn’t paralyzing like it was before then it’s ok to have some anxiety.

But why though?

The goal should be to beat anxiety in the face and win the fight, not settle for being less anxious.

There’s a reason why Jesus said don’t worry over and over again.

He doesn’t want us to use precious brain cells and time worrying when we could be praying to the Father and getting real results.

So in today’s post, I’m going to talk about some stress-reducing hobbies and tips to start beating stress for good.

These are some of the ways that I’ve used to help me at least get a strong grip on anxiety.

But first I’m going to tell you HOW to use these tips because that’s equally as important.
