In busy seasons, it’s easy to get sucked into the chaos and the nonstop nature of life. At that point, being overwhelmed is almost inevitable.
However, that’s where Bible journaling comes in. It helps pace everything in the right manner, it slows down your racing thoughts and creates space to breathe, reflect, and reset.
It’s amidst all of this emotional noise that journaling anchors you in God’s truth, bringing to your remembrance what is sure, even when every other things feels confusing. It provides a platform of quietness and peace, a place where you can process your thoughts, worries, and distractions through the lens of the scripture.
Bible journaling helps deepen your relationship with God, which is the ultimate goal of every Christian, whether man or woman. Even a few minutes a day with an open heart and an open Bible, you can connect with God. And here’s a fact about Bible journaling; it doesn’t add to your burden, it lifts burdens off you.
* How To Use These Verses In Your Journal *
The most effective way to reap the benefits of Bible journaling is to write out the verses by hand. I know electronic journals are cool and fancy and it is one of my favorite types of journaling.
However, there’s something about putting a pen in your hand and physically writing that makes my connection with God deeper when I prayer journal.
Reflect on what God might be saying to you through the verse you’ve written out. You have to be intentional; that’s the only way to get the benefit.
After reflection, respond with your honest feeling. It doesn’t have to be anything in particular. It could be anything, prayer, praise, or confession. It could also be a bit of everything, just do it sincerely.
While you’re at it, also ask the question “How does this very verse relate to what I’m going through today?” You could hear God reveal to you exactly how that verse relates to you.
You could also get creative, and decorate your journal with stickers and other journaling supplies which I talk more about here in this post. You could highlight it, draw it, or also express the verse creatively if that helps you process it much better because, why not? Go for it.
* 7 Verses To Journal In Your Busy Season *
1. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary”
Reflection:
At the peak, when life is busy, we often try to take on more than we can or are meant to. From deadlines, to expectations, and worries. But Jesus is inviting you to come as you lay those burdens down, and walk with Him. His way brings rest and calm to your weary soul.
Prayer journaling prompt:
What burden am I carrying today? What do I need to release to Jesus? You can write those out and ask Him for help as you trade your burden for his rest.
2. Psalm 61:2 “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock”
Reflection:
At times when you feel overwhelmed and weak, this verse reminds you that it is okay to call on God from a place of exhaustion. He hears you even when you feel drained and empty. He will lead you to Himself as the rock that never shakes.
Prayer journaling prompt:
Lord, I feel weak and overwhelmed. I have hit my limit. Write a prayer asking God to take you to a level where his peace, clarity, and strength are.
3. Isaiah 40:31: “Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength”
Reflection:
Exhaustion often makes you feel like you are running on empty, but the good thing is, God has assured renewal to those who wait and hope in Him.
Prayer journaling prompt:
“God, what do you want to renew in me this season? How do you want to help me keep moving forward with your energy?”
4. Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything”
Reflection:
It’s normal to feel anxious, especially during busy and uncertain seasons. But with God, there’s a better way to handle all your worries as you bring them to Him in prayers. When you do, he takes away your stress and replaces it with peace.
Prayer journaling prompt:
“Dear Lord, I surrender my anxiety and anxious thoughts to you. Please guard my heart and mind.”
5. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the lord with all your heart”
Reflection:
Life can be overwhelming and unpredictable. In these difficult times, it’s easy to overthink and overanalyze things, relying on logical reasoning. However, God has called you to trust Him completely even when answers seem far. He has the full picture, and he will direct you through the right part.
Prayer journaling prompt:
“Lord, help me trust you even when I can’t see what you’re doing, help me trust you even if I can’t see the way forward.”
6. Exodus 33:14: “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Reflection:
What your soul needs in a busy and demanding season is not more time. Even if the hour of the day increases to 26 or 32 hours, it might not be enough; what you need is God’s presence. He promises more than rest after chaos, and peace even amid chaos.
Prayer journaling prompt:
“God, I invite your presence into the chaos of my day. I need your presence and peace, come into my schedule today.”
7. 2 Corinthians 12:9: “My Grace is sufficient for you.”
Reflection:
You don’t have to be strong always, as even in your weakness, God shines through. His grace is enough to cover your every shortfall and messy situation. When you feel like you’re exhausted, his strength is available to you.
Prayer journaling prompt:
“Father, show me how to rely on Your strength instead of my own.”

You could be overwhelmed, and it’s okay, but you can leverage these Bible verses for overwhelmed women and come out victorious on the other side.
It could be as little as five quiet minutes with His Word to bring you more peace than your perfectly checked to-do list.
