Nighttime Journal Prompts To Help You Fall Asleep Fast!
Yaaaaawwwn…. What an exhausting day, right? If you’re anything like me, you have about a million thoughts tumbling around in your head at night.
This can make it super hard to fall asleep. And then when you do finally fall asleep, I bet you be having some crazy dreams, ammirite? Which makes your sleep fitful and restless which is the opposite of what you want.
While there are lots of sleep better remedies out there , one that can be overlooked is using nighttime journal prompts right before you hit the sheets.
Writing right before you go to bed is a great way to leave the worries of your day on the pages of your journal so they can be off of your mind!
So let’s dig into these prompts quickly so you can catch some zzz’s!
Oh yeah, and this post contains affiliate links to great products that will help you in your health journey. I will get a commission if you decide to buy from these links but I’m only recommending products that I feel confident about.
– What You Need To Get Started
To get started all you need is some paper and a pen.
However, if you want to take your journaling game to the next level then you can use a bullet journal or download some journaling printables.
– Why Journal Before Bed: Benefits of Nighttime Journaling
1)Reflect on your day – In the evening, use your journal to reflect on your day.
Write down what you did today, then write about how you feel about your choices if the day sucked or was wonderful or a mixture of both, and how you could have done things differently.
This is especially helpful in hindsight. I know I’ve had some horrendous days that I wrote about in my journal.
Days that you didn’t know how you would cope or get through another day like it. But then months later you look back at that journal entry and remember that God got you through that day like He always has.
It’s in those moments that you realize that He will carry you through any day no matter how horrible it is.!
2)Express feelings and emotions – Vent all you want in your journal!
It is like talking to a therapist, where you can express all your feelings, good and bad, and get them out of your head.
Actually, no scratch that…you can treat your journal like your therapist or your enemy and say things that you would never say to anyone.
The paper can take it! Purge all of the day’s anxieties and anger onto the pages of your journal so you can sleep peacefully!
3)Have a healthy routine –
In general, both nighttime and morning journal routines also help you to think about how else you might want to adjust these daily habits.
Maybe you use your journal at the same time as your planner in the morning, or in the evening you meditate a little before writing in your journal.

– Do You Write Before Bed?

The more we reflect on each day, the better our tomorrows will be.
I know that is super cheesy. I’ll own that. But it doesn’t make it less true.
Think about your day, the good and the bad, learn from the bad, be grateful for the good, pray about it all, and then have the sweetest dreams you can imagine.
Goodnight!
