Should I try online therapy is the same question I asked myself over 10 years ago when I was suffering from depression and anxiety.
I knew I needed help escaping the dark prison that was my brain but the thought of talking to someone face to face was not an option for me at that time.
This may be the same situation you see yourself in at the moment and so I’m going to tell you upfront:
Yes, you should get online therapy and in today’s post, I’m going to tell you why and where you can get it.
This is what we’ll cover:
I can’t lie…
I got emotional while I was creating this grief journal printable and I’m not even grieving the loss of a loved one.
That’s how powerful these grief writing prompts are.
I looked them over and it tore me up thinking about how I might need these prompts one day when I experience the pain of loss.
If you or someone you know is grieving, I truly believe that journaling is an activity that will help them heal.
That is why I created this printable grief journal…to help people heal in a healthy way.
You see what many of us want to do when we are wheeling from losing a loved one is bury the pain.
Maybe then the pain will go away.
Maybe then you won’t hurt so bad.
But let me tell you.
That don’t work.
When you are confronted with the pain of a searing loss you will deal with that pain one way or another.
It will either be in a healthy way or an unhealthy way.Continue reading
Have you ever lived with something so long that you begin to think it’s normal?
Then you get a clue and you’re like wait I’m not meant to live like this!
I had that realization this week about anxiety.
Although I’ve overcome depression completely and given anxiety more than a few punches, I still am not completely free and I’m guessing you’re not either.
I guess I thought hey as long as my anxiety isn’t paralyzing like it was before then it’s ok to have some anxiety.
But why though?
The goal should be to beat anxiety in the face and win the fight, not settle for being less anxious.
There’s a reason why Jesus said don’t worry over and over again.
He doesn’t want us to use precious brain cells and time worrying when we could be praying to the Father and getting real results.
So in today’s post, I’m going to talk about some stress-reducing hobbies and tips to start beating stress for good.
These are some of the ways that I’ve used to help me at least get a strong grip on anxiety.
But first I’m going to tell you HOW to use these tips because that’s equally as important.
Online therapy is a tool that I give major credit to in my mental health journey.
I promise you, I would not be writing this blog post without having done online counseling many years ago.
I was too depressed and anxious to actually start a blog and too self-conscious to put myself out there.
Truth is having a healthy body but an unhealthy mind, so to speak, just won’t cut it y’all.
I’m nowhere close to where I want to be physically, financially, mentally, or spiritually.
But I do understand fully that all of these aspects work together to create the healthiest person possible.
Your mind is a big component of why you do what you do.
If you feel like everything is a huge struggle and you haven’t tried online counseling yet then I’m going to share with you 3 true benefits that online therapy has vs traditional therapy and which site helped me the most.
Please stay tuned because I really want you to move the needle from where you are now towards where you want to be.
Change is possible with online therapy and I’m going to show you just a glimpse of how it can help you!Continue reading
It was of an English woman who would go to the grocery store just so she could talk to the cashier.
She said that If she didn’t do that she said she could literally go months without talking to another person. What’s even sadder is that she’s not alone.
Loneliness is at an epidemic level. In the UK, an estimated 9 million people are as lonely as this woman.
Are you stuck at home and wondering is there anything life-changing I could be doing with my time? Well I have 19 amazing ideas for you to try while you’re stuck at home on lockdown or whenever you have long stretches of time at home.
I couldn’t pen down one emotion to describe this period of quarantine if I tried.
Bittersweet comes to mind but that’s such an anemic word that I dare not use it for it doesn’t even come close to grasping the depth of this situation that is 2020.
2020 basically just took a wrecking ball to all of our lives. Whether it’s a lost job or a lost loved one or the fear of experiencing either, no one has gone through this period unscathed.
I have had pockets of anxiety. Continue reading
Does it sometimes feel like the world has gone stark raving mad and they are trying to drive you to crazy town with them?
Sometimes it’s people trying to pull you into their drama at work (“Girl, did you hear what Susie Q said to me?”)…
Or your husband saying stuff (“Why aren’t my pants ironed yet”)…
Or your kids tripping at school (“Mrs.So&So, This is the principal at Central High School. We need you to come down here right away”).
Or it’s the news or social media (News Headline: “The Worst Thing That Has Ever Happened In The Existence Of The World Has Happened Just This Morning“).
Of course, I’m being a little tongue in cheek but there does seem to always be something or someone that is trying to mess with our emotional and mental state.
So if you’re able to have these 25 examples of emotional health goals any woman should have in the midst of all the dramas of life and constant state of outrage that the media seems to claim we are in you’ve got it going on.
If only I had a dollar for every time a news headline said something or someone “sparked outrage” I’d have at least $5,000 dollars by now.
Fear and anxiety are something that so many people struggle with. And not just people in general but Christians in particular even though Jesus said about a million times don’t be anxious.
As much as He said this though it’s still a negative emotion that many of us can’t shake.
So I’ve put together this bible reading plan of Bible verses that talks about anxiety. I got this list from: https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/worry-and-anxiety-bible-verses/Continue reading
Why Use A Planner Or Bullet Journal
Does anyone else geek out over planners?
I’m not sure what it is.
With me being so scatterbrained, perhaps it’s the idea of having all of my thoughts, plans, goals, and dreams neatly tucked away in between brightly colored pages & organized boxes.
Whatever the reason, I am instantly drawn to a row of planners when I go to Target or whenever I see them online (esp. Etsy).
Do you use a planner or a bullet journal?
Perhaps you don’t. If not, let me school you on why you should use a planner and some of its health benefits. These are 7 of the main life-changing benefits that I’ve seen since I started using digital planners!
But of course you can use whichever kind of planner that works best for you. So let’s dive right in!
