40+ Bible verses for hopeless women
[Sometimes I feel like as Christians we aren’t supposed to have feelings of hopelessness or despair.
As if we are less His children if we struggle with depression or other mental illness. But God is a God of great mercy and He knows that we struggle just like anyone else.
However, we don’t stay in a pit of despair because we have a hope from God that pulls us out of that pit.
And in today’s post, written by Karen Ellis of the Warrior Women blog she is going to share some powerful bible verses with us that we can turn to in times of hopelessness.
So if you have a broken heart or feel a complete loss of hope, pull up a chair, get comfortable and let the word of God fill you with the hope that only He can provide.]

God is so good. He loves you more than you can comprehend and only wants what is best for you. But sometimes, this is hard to believe.
When we are going through what seems like one trial after another, we just barely weather one stressful storm when another one hits. It can cause us to feel helpless and hopeless.
Where do you turn for help when you are feeling helpless or hopeless? The Bible has a lot to say about this subject and even gives us several examples of people who felt hopeless, just like we do at times.
For help and hope in the moments when you feel hopeless, let these Bible verses bring you peace and comfort.

Stories of Hopelessness in the Bible
Stories of Hopelessness in the Bible
You may have seen movies where the plot takes many twists and turns. You are on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what happens next. Then you cheer when everything comes together in the end.
The Bible has these stories too. However, two stories stand out.
One of these is the story of three young Hebrew men. They are Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
You can find their story in Daniel 3:16-28. These young men loved the Lord and worshipped him. However, the king at the time made a golden image and commanded that everyone worship it.
These young men refused and said they would only serve God. The king then demanded they be thrown into a fiery furnace that had been heated up to 7 times hotter than usual!
Now, most people would see this as a hopeless situation. However, these men believed that God could deliver them and told the king that.
As much as I love the ending, we need to pay attention to their attitude. They said, “Our God is able to deliver us, but if he doesn’t, we still will not bow down and serve your golden image.”
Well, God showed up in a big way and was with them in the fire. They came out completely unharmed!
These men were faithful even when their situation seemed hopeless.
Another story is that of Job. Job was a very blessed man. He had a wife, children, possessions and had a comfortable life.
Then he lost everything! He lost his health, his wealth, even all of his children. I cannot think of a situation that is more hopeless than this!
Job’s friends accused him of some kind of sin, and his wife encouraged him to curse God and die! Have you ever gotten horrible advice? Job sure did.
But even in this seemingly hopeless situation, Job remained faithful to God.
God strengthened Job and blessed him with double all that he had! The Bible says that “in all the land there were no women as beautiful as his daughters” and that Job “lived 140 years and died an old man full of days.”
Talk about a hopeless situation. Job had every reason to feel hopeless but kept his faith, and God blessed him.

44) Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:26
45) Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10
46) For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide, we might have hope. Romans 15:4
Conclusion
Conclusion
You may be going through a situation right now that feels hopeless, according to the world. However, based on your past experiences, you may be having a hard time holding on to hope and believing your situation can change.
But friend, when God is on the scene, everything has to change! He loves you more than you know, and he is a “friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:34
There is nothing too hard for God. Luke 1:37 And I just want to leave you with this song by Phil Wickham called Living Hope. I pray that this post has encouraged you in your time of trouble!
