Are you making a weight loss plan for next year?
Researching different diets and meal plans to see which one you want to try? I feel you.
I’m doing the same although I know it’s a danger to say I’m going on a diet.
I’m just going to continue to make a series of dietary lifestyle changes until I reach my goal weight.
What’s amazing though is that there are definitely some surprisingly healthy and delicious foods that you can put on your grocery list ( and actually eat, even) and still lose weight.
After a 60 plus pound weight loss, I can say that I’ve never given up my favorite foods in order to lose weight.
The following foods are some of the foods that I ate as I lost weight and it has not caused me to gain my weight back.
Of course, you have to listen to your own body and see which foods work for you in your own weight loss journey.
Try these foods out and if you find your gaining or not losing weight then definitely remove them from your diet.
Ok now let’s get into it!
I have to admit I’ve been low energy here lately.
And I certainly know why. I have not been eating as healthy as I should.
I’ve been relying on convenience foods that take no time to prepare and my energy has plummeted and weight loss has stalled.
So I know that changes need to be made. I’m assuming that if you’re here you too want to make changes and want to know how to eat more vegetables.
Well, I’m truly glad you’re here to go on this journey with me.
I would love to just eat whatever and not worry about it but I know that meal planning and meal prepping are my friends when it comes to weight loss.
So I’ve researched and found 3 simple ways to incorporate vegetables into your diet in a natural way.Continue reading
Raise your hand high if you’re typically still hungry after drinking a smoothie?
You can’t see me but my hand is raised so high right now, even as I’m typing. Not sure how I managed that 😀. Because I work a typical job (for now), I have to eat when I’m told.
So I eat breakfast at 6 am and I eat lunch at 12 pm. That’s a long time in between meals at least in my opinion.
As we are trying to get physically healthy, what we eat should be one of our top concerns. The idea of drinking smoothie is lovely but it’s not going to hold many people over until lunchtime, especially if lunch is 6 hours away.
Of course, snacks are an option and can be healthy but let’s be real here. Many of our snacks have enough calories to be considered meals. It’s a good idea to be quite judicious with our snacks.
Given all of this, I was delighted when I came across a video from Pickup Limes on YouTube that mentioned adding this to our smoothies to make them more filling. I’ll share what “this” is below.
Then I will share some more ways you can add protein and fiber to your smoothie to make them more filling.
Don’t have a way to make a smoothie? Definitely, check out the Nutribullet which is amazing.

Don’t tell yourself the lie: You absolutely can afford to buy organic food on a budget.
Although some people don’t believe organic food is worth the extra cost, without having scientific proof, I do believe eating organic and natural foods helped me bring my A1C to a normal range and lose weight to the tune of 60 pounds.
So I’m a big advocate.
However, it truly breaks my heart that organic and healthy food seems so out of reach for so many people.
I hate the idea that some people can’t get the healthy food they need for their family and themselves.
However, I believe this is changing.
Now, that organic food is gaining in popularity, it is so much more accessible and affordable.
The secret is knowing when to stock up on it so that you and your family can eat healthy food all year.
So today I’m going to share with you:Continue reading

It’s a vicious cycle.
I’ll tell myself that I need to actually follow the meal planning ideas I read about because I know it helps with weight loss (don’t even get me started on meal prep…but I have a post coming up on that too so stay tuned).
I’ll comb through the grocery ads for that week, looking for sales because, you know, I’m going to plan my meals based on what’s on sale (ha ha ha).
I’ll go to the store, with a list but for some reason, it’s filled with items that do not form any sort of cohesive dish.
I will leave the store and go home only to remember, I never made a meal plan and therefore, didn’t buy any groceries that could make a meal that seemed “planned”.Continue reading
